E6 - The One With The Evangelism - Dr Ken Bishop, Northern Ireland Executive

Spotify Apple Podcasts Amazon Music

This week, we focus on the important role of the evangelist in the progression of the neurodiversity cause.

We’re joined by Dr. Ken Bishop, a government strategist and neurodiversity advocate working at the Northern Ireland Executive. Ken has spent over two decades shaping policy, advising on economic development, and leading change management initiatives across Europe. But his passion for inclusion is also deeply personal—he’s been a lifelong champion for neurodivergent talent, informed by his own lived experience with dyslexia.

In this episode, we cover topics including:

  • How his own journey with dyslexia shaped his worldview and approach to life and work.

  • Why Northern Ireland in particular provides such a fertile ground for progress in inclusivity for neurodiversity.

  • What the public sector can learn from the private sector.

  • The challenges as well as the rewards of being an advocate for neurodivergency.

  • Examples of how to catalyse action on inclusivity in large organisations.
